BBC The Voice Star launches countdown to Manchester Emergency Fund Concert

Joe Keegan from the BBC TV show The Voice, launched the countdown to this years special Charity Gala Concert in aid of the Manchester Emergency Fund. The concert is being staged by the Mayo Manchester Tourism and Business group on Saturday 5 August at the Ballina Arts Centre in Ballina, Mayo in the West of Ireland. The special evening of Irish Music, Song and Dance is part of the groups 6 Days Mayo Manchester Tradfest which features over 500 performers from Mayo and Manchester performing at over 100 events.

The fund was set up to help the families of the 22 people killed in the suicide bomb in the city centre and over 250 people who were injured in the attack. The Event has been kindly sponsored by Rosgal Civil Engineers, Manchester.

Tony Hennigan from Mayo Manchester commented "We have all been shaken up by the major incident in our home city and were touched by all the messages of support from our friends and family in Mayo and around the world. We felt it was only right to do something during our 6 day tradfest to try and support the people involved in this horrific act of terrorism."

The evening will be Hosted by 'The Voice of Old Trafford' Mr Alan Keegan from Manchester United Football club who is flying in from United's USA Tour to host the evening.

Performers from Manchester include Joe Keegan from the TV Show The Voice, plus the award winning Fianna Phadraig Pipe Band and the Keegan Academy of Irish Dancing which is run by the new Lord of the Dance - James Keegan and his sister Louise. Performers from Mayo include Sean Nos Dancers Tommy Stenson and The Ganley Sisters, there is also a specially commissioned performance from Lavinia Gilmartin's award winning Heroes for Hospice group, plus singer songwriter Dennis McCalmount and the Jiving Juniors.

This annual event always sells out in advance and you are urged to purchase your tickets well in advance to avoid disappointment.
