Manchester all set for Mayo Day 2019
Manchester is already all set for this years worldwide Mayo Day celebrations on Saturday 4 May. Mayo Manchester have organised a special Mayo Day Evening Tradfest in the first floor performance space at m19 Music venue in Levenshulme which is home to one of tthe biggest Mayo Diaspora communities in the UK.
Headlining the concert is the award winning Mayo Man himself, Peter Mylett from Newport in Mayo, the legendary singer songwriter will be launching his popular 'Greenway' song at the concert and staging the world premier of his latest single in honour of Mayo Day called 'The Mayo Word' as a tribute to this years theme.
Support on the night comes from the Grace Kennedy School of Irish Dancing, which is run by Grace Kennedy whose Irish roots stem from Westport in Mayo. Launching the night is the award winning Fianna Phadraig Pipe Band from the Mayo Manchester Tradfest and an acoustic performance from the Rambling Boys of Pleasure.
Tickets for the intimate concert are just £5 in advance and are expected to sell out very quickly. There will be a raffle on the night with lots of Mayo prizes up for grabs.
