Mayo and Manchester stage Heroes for Hospice Exhibition

Heroes for Hospice is a musical group from County Mayo in the West of Ireland which has been raising money for the Mayo Roscommon Hospice. The show features a cast of ninety performers who have been selling out venues all over Ireland raising over 30,000 Euros so far for the charity. The photographs provide an insight into the show which made its UK d├ębut on Monday 26 October in Manchester as part of the 2015 Levenshulme Festival. They feature live shots of the musical during its performances in Mayo at various shows and outdoor festivals by Paul Fox from Ballina in Mayo and Tony Hennigan from Manchester.

The exhibition is being staged in the newly opened Fred's Art Gallery in the basement of Fred's Ale House and Coffee bar in Levenshulme village in South Manchester alongside the work of Coronation Street Artist, Daniel Pitts. The exhibition will run until the end of November.

Tony Hennigan from Mayo Manchester commented "We wanted to do something to promote the UK premier of the show in Manchester and decided to stage the exhibition in October as part of our promotional campaign for the show which was a sell out success in its one off concert in Manchester and its final sell out concert in Dublin. I had taken some photographs of the group during the summer and when I saw Paul's stunning images I thought it would be great to have a joint exhibition. We would love to stage further collaborative exhibitions at the venue and are currently working on a proposal to stage a 'We Love Ballina' during the Manchester Irish Festival in March. "
