Mayo GAA star lends his support to Home to Mayo Festival

Mayo GAA star, Cillian OConnor flew over to Manchester as the guest of honour at St Lawrence’s GAA Club annual presentation night. The event was held at the award winning St Kents Irish Club.

Cillian met Tony Hennigan from Mayo Manchester at the event to lend his support for the forthcoming Home to Mayo Festival in May.

Mayo Manchester hope to stage one of the flagship events at the month long festival. They will be staging their award winning Mayo Manchester Tradfest featuring performers from Manchester and Mayo. The week long festival of Irish Music, Song and Dance runs from Thursday 26 May to Tuesday 31 May. St Lawrence’s are hoping to visit Mayo at the same time to celebrate the clubs anniversary and it’s numerous connections to Mayo. They last joined forces with Mayo Manchester for the Gathering in 2013.

Tony Hennigan from Mayo Manchester commented “It was great to meet up with Cillian again, he has been a great supporter of all the work we have done in Mayo since 2012. We are delighted that St Lawrence’s are planning to visit Mayo, it was a great success when they came over with us in 2013.”
