Mayo Manchester invited to Ashford Castle

The world famous Ashford Castle in Mayo will be Rolling out the Green and Red carpet to welcome the performers at this years 2018 Mayo Manchester Tradfest.

The performers have been invited to perform at the five star hotel in Cong as part of the closing day celebrations at the week long award winning festival.

The Traditional Irish Music, Song and Dance Festival runs from Thursday 2 August to Wednesday 8 August and the group will visit the Castle on Wednesday 8 August.

The special event is just one of the ten main events of the week long celebration to the mark the 70th anniversary of the Manchester based Fianna Phadraig Pipe Band.

The Pipe band and Joe Keegan from the BBC TV show The Voice will stage a promenade performance across the bridge of the castle performing enjoying a VIP afternoon tea in the hotel.

Amongst the VIPs attending the event will be The Voice of Old Trafford, Alan Keegan from Manchester United Football Club.

Tony Hennigan the director of Mayo Manchester commented “We were delighted to receive such a prestigious invitation and it should mark the end of a very memorable week for the festival. The Festival is starting in Attymass and then goes onto to visit, Castlebar, Achill, Ballina, Westport, Claremorris and Bonniconlon.”
