Mayo Manchester Tradfest Promotional Launch sells Out

This years 2016 Manchester Irish Festival Tradfest launch on Friday 4 March at Freds Ale House has now sold out. There has been an unprecedented demand for tickets for the launch which is being sponsored by Mayo County Council's diaspora website www.mayo.ie and the Mayo Manchester Tourism and Business Group. It looks like Levenshulme will be turned Green and Red to celebrate the start of the festival, the first twenty visitors to arrive in Mayo colours will receive a free bottle of the limited edition of 'Say Nowt Stout' Craft Ale from the Reel Deel Brewery which is being launched at the event.

The event will feature performances from the award winning Fianna Phadraig Pipe Band, the Keegan Academy of Irish Dancing, one of the stars of the RTE TV series The Voice - Denise Morgan and The Hayes Sisters. Irish Singer Wayne Devlin will also be pre-launching his new single on the night. As well as launching this years festival the event is being used to promote the forthcoming 6 Day Mayo Manchester Tradfest which takes place in Ballina during the summer from Friday 29 July to Wednesday 3 August. It will give visitors a taste of the summer festival which features over 50 events in North Mayo. A host of free raffle prizes have been donated to the event which include the chance to win a holiday in Mayo, three crates of Craft Ale from the Mayo based Reel Deel Brewery and a Whiskey Tasting adventure in Ballina from Adventures with Rachael.

The special event will kick start the festivals one hundred events to celebrate Ireland's Centenary and the start of the 2016 Manchester Irish Festival which runs from Friday 4 March to Sunday 20 March. The Tradfest involves three of the main festival hubs in Levenshulme, Chorlton and Fallowfield with Irish Art, Comedy, Community, Dance, Music and Irish Language events taking place in South Manchester.

As well as the live entertainment in the first floor concert room there is a photo exhibition by Anslem Gallagher on Manchester 1990 which was recently featured in the Manchester Evening News, plus a photo exhibition on the 2015 Mayo Manchester Tradfest in Mayo which is on show in the basement Art Gallery. Plus two book launches about Mayo by Dennis Carey in the basement Art Gallery.

A Holiday in Mayo at the newly refurbished Twin Trees Hotel (www.twintreeshotel.ie) as featured on RTE TV in Ballina, other prizes include three crates of craft beer from the Mayo based Reel Deel Brewery and an Irish whiskey Tasting evening for two in Rouses Bar in Ballina hosted by Rachael's Adventures.
