MMTradfest to take place in Mayo from 3-9 August

The 2017 week long Mayo Manchester Tradfest will run from Thursday 3 August until Wednesday 9 August. The week long celebration of Traditional Irish Music, Song and Dance features performers from Mayo and Manchester. It is a unique collaboration between the two areas.

This is the fifth festival in Mayo that the Mayo Manchester Tradfest has organised, its first took place in 2013 for the Mayo Manchester Gathering, since then it has organised the annual MMTradfest which win the International Mayo Peoples Award and won through as a finalist in the 2017 Tourism Ireland's Industry award.

The Festival which is still being finalised will launched on Thursday 3 August and run through to Wednesday 9 August with events taking place all over Mayo in the following festival Hubs: Attymass, Ballina, Bonniconlon, Castlebar, Foxford and Swinford.

Highlights include a live outside broadcast by Midwest Radio, a gala concert at the Ballina Arts Centre as well as visits to all six festival hubs to take part in various workshops and performances.
