MMTradfest to visit Titanic Village in Mayo

Mayo Manchester will be visiting Mayo's famous Titanic village on Tuesday 2 August to stage a free early evening concert 7pm-9pm in the concert room at Leonard's Pub in the picturesque Lahardane village.

The village which is just a short 25 minutes drive from Ballina is nestled below the famous Nephin Mountain range and just outside the Pontoon Lakes. It is also home to the world famous Addergoole Titanic memorial which was built by the village and the soon to be opened Nephin Whiskey Distillery. There is already a Nephin Whiskey Distillery visitor centre which is currently open by appointment until the distillery is fully opened.

Performing at the special free concert is the Irish musician, singer and dancer - Joe Keegan from the BBC TV series 'The Voice', along with The Fianna Phadraig Pipe Band and Irish Dancers from the Keegan Academy of Irish Dancing, plus local dancers and musicians.

Tony Hennigan from Mayo Manchester commented "The last time we performed in the village was in 2013 and we are delighted to be invited back to one of our favourite venues, it is like stepping back in time when you walk through door of the venue. The Pub still has preserved its original shop and bar at the front of the premises as well as a lovely large concert room at the rear. I would advise anyone coming to the concert to set off early and take the Foxford Road to the fabulous Pontoon Drive along the numerous lakes in Pontoon and then onto Lahardane. The Titanic memorial is well worth a visit before the concert."
