Tarbh47 joins forces with Mayo Manchester

Ballina's newest Irish Music Bar, Tarbh 47 on Garden Street in Ballina has been selected to stage this years Mayo Manchester Tradfest closing party on Wednesday 7 August at 9pm.

The popular Irish bar and Traditional Irish Music venue which is being run by Ballina's Gerry Walsh opened in May to rave reviews and has been working all summer to build up its reputation as one of the leading live music venues in Ballina in North Mayo. Tony Hennigan fom Mayo Manchester commented "Its great to see Gerry open up this new Music venue in Ballina and we are delighted to be stage the closing night of our action packed week long festival in Ballina which opens on Thursday 1 August and finishes its celebrations at the venue on Wednesday 7 August."

Gerry added "The Mayo Manchester Tradfest is always one of the major music festival highlights in Ballina, it is great to see it growing bigger each year it returns to Mayo. Who would have thought that a festival that started in Ballina seven years ago is now welcomed all over Mayo including venues like Ashford Castle. It has really put the town on the map and we are over the moon to be invited to stage the closing party, we will be rolling out the Green and Red carpet to welcome the performers home and it should be a great end to the week long festival."

The event will be launched by The award winning Fianna Phadraig Irish Pipe Band, the band are one of the few bands in the world to have the privilege of being invited by the Irish government to perform at both the 50th and 100th year commemoration celebrations of Ireland's independence in Dublin.

Joining the band will be Irish Singer, Songwriter and Traditional Irish Musician, Joe Keegan from the TV show The Voice who will be showcasing his songs from his new Album that he has just recorded at the world famous Abbey Road studios in London along with an array of Irish Classics to guarantee you getting on your dancing shoes.

The evening will be hosted by The Voice of Old Trafford at Manchester United Football Club, Mr Alan Keegan who is flying in from United's tour of Australia to compere the evening.
