A Taste of Mayo Manchester comes to Bonniconlon Show
Mayo Manchester Tourism and Buiness group have joined forces with Mayo North to stage a special Business and Networking event called 'A Taste of Mayo Manchester' which will feature Food and Drink companies together with those involved in Tourism, Business and Entertainment from Mayo and Manchester. The event is one of the ten main events at this years Mayo Manchester 6 Day Tradfest which runs from Friday 29 July to Wednesday 3 August in and around Ballina.
Tony Hennigan from Mayo Manchester commented “We have been staging an annual Business and Networking event every year since 2013, but this is our biggest one yet. The Bonniconlon Show is an ideal location with over 30,000 people attending Ireland's second biggest show. We are indebted to the support given to us by Cllr John O'Hara the chairman of the show and Mayo.ie for their support to make it happen. It promises to give visitors a real taste from Farm to Fork of Mayo's finest Food and Drink products whilst being entertained by our Tradfest performers and networking with companies together with stake holders involved in Business and Tourism.In the light of the Brexit result its now more important than either to strengthen our connections and continue to develop our links. The new Minister for Regional and Rural development Michael Ring TD will be present at the show together with a number of TD's, senators, councillors and a large representation from Mayo.ie, Mayo County Council and the Mayo enterprise board.”
The Marquee will be open from 10am to 6pm with the official launch and entertainment from the Mayo Manchester Tradfest at 12.30 before their appearance on the main stage at 2pm.
Companies and groups attending the event from Manchester include Excel Excavation, Keegan Academy of Irish Dance, The Fianna Phadraig Pipe Band, Joe Keegan from the BBC TV series The Voice, Alan Keegan from Manchester United Football Club. Companies from Mayo include The Mayfly Hotel from Foxford, The Reel Deel Brewery and Organic Food from Ennscoe House in Crossmolina, Hollies Cakes from Ballina along with Mayo North Tourism group.
The Bonniconlon Agriculture and Gymkhana is the second biggest show of its kind in Ireland, it attracts over 30,000 visitors to the family friendly event which features displays of cattle, sheep, donkeys, horses and birds as well as a large craft market, plus vintage and heritage displays along with loads of family entertainment which includes two music stages. Doors open at 9am and Mid West Radio will be broadcasting all day, Irish TV will also be on hand to film the various events so make sure you dress up for the event.
From Bales of Hay tossing competitions to show jumping and headline Country music bands to Chain saw cutting demonstrations and death defying Motor bike riding demonstrations there is something for everyone to enjoy. Make sure you dress up for the best dressed male and best dressed female competitions or have a go at being crowned the Queen of Bonniconlon.
