Tourism Ireland help sponsor Home to Mayo campaign in UK

Tourism Ireland will be the main sponsor of this years 2021 Levenshulme Festival and the launch of the Home to Mayo 2022 campaign at two special free Irish concerts at the festival.

The two Home to Mayo concerts take place on Friday 29 October at Fred's Ale House and the Union Irish Music bar on Stockport Road in Levenshulme village in South Manchester. Mayo Manchester Tradfest star, Joe Keegan headlines the concert at the Union with Royal Northern College of Music fiddle player, Grainne White. Whilst Irish singer songwriter Niamh Finan whose parents have a house in Ballycastle in Mayo headlines the Irish Concert at Fred's Ale House.

Tony Hennigan the CEO of Mayo Manchester commented "The Mayo diaspora in Manchester cant wait to get home for the unique 'Home to Mayo' month long festival in Mayo 2022 and we are planning to stage our award winning Mayo Manchester Tradfest during the last week of the festival from the 26 to 31 May. The concerts will just give visitors a taste of the week of Traditional Irish Music, Song and Dance that we have planned for May. We are delighted that Tourism Ireland have become our partner for the launch of the Tourism initiative in the UK and have helped sponsor the festival in Levenshulme which is home to the biggest Mayo diaspora community in the UK."

Visitors to the two free concerts will be able to enter a free raffle for a holiday in Mayo with a night for two up for grabs at the Broadhaven Hotel in Erris on offer at Joe Keegan's concert at the Union Irish Music bar and two nights for two people at the Achill Island Hotel in Mayo at Niamh Finan's concert at Freds Ale House.
