WATCH: Mayo / Manchester Video now online.

A group of forty musicians, singers and dancers descended upon Ballina from Friday 31 July until Wednesday 5 August to stage a week long Irish Music, Song and Dance festival during Ireland's bank holiday weekend. They were joined by hundreds more performers from the West of Ireland.

In what was lauded as one of the most successful projects of it's type, this unique partnership raised hundreds of thousands of Euros for the West of Ireland economy as well as strengthening the links between Manchester and County Mayo.

The Festival also featured a Business strand to develop stronger links between the two areas and a number of Sport and Leisure events.

During the last four years, Mayo Manchester has been working tirelessly to try and encourage the Mayo Diaspora from the UK to look upon North Mayo as the ideal holiday destination for a family holiday. The festival featured some of Mayo and Manchester’s premier performers who will be performing at various venues and events in and around North Mayo.

Tony Hennigan from the group said, "This video evokes happy memories from a hugely successful summer. Thanks to Irish TV for coming to see us. We're delighted to welcome 'Beyond the Barricade' back to Manchester on 26 October. County Mayo’s sell out show Stopping musical is making its UK premier in Manchester at the Zion Centre with all profits being donated to the Mayo Roscommon Hospice in the West of Ireland. We will be welcoming them to Manchester with a hooley on the 25 October with a special welcome party at the M19 Bar as part of this year's Levenshulme Festival."
